Websites need to be user friendly. If a customer or client cannot use a businesses website, they will give up and move onto another website that is user friendly. As a business, if you wish to keep customers and clients coming back to your website, you need to make it as user friendly as possible.

There are a couple of ways that websites can be developed so that they are user friendly. Here is a look at some ways that website developers and business owners can make their website more user friendly.

Reduce Clutter

A website that has a lot of clutter can confuse or overwhelm the visitor. Try to reduce the amount of clutter on a page so that website visitors will not feel overwhelmed when they visit. It will also present users with the information that the business owner wishes them to know and not fill them with useless information.

Check Links

It is important that you check the links on a website. Nothing is more frustrating than clicking a link believing you will be taken to a website and then finding out that the page is missing or the link is broken. Make sure that you check all internal links that allow users to browse around your website as well as external links that allow your site to be connected to others.

Create Lists

Website users love to scan pages. While scanning, if they see something that might be interesting, they will stop and read it. Try to create lists or subheadings so that the website is easy to read for visitors.

Take Away Pop-ups and Distractions

Website visitors hate pop-ups and distractions on websites. A distraction can be anything from background music, talking ads, random noises and flashing lights or blinking ads. Try to eliminate all of these items when creating a website.
